Photography started when...

There are a lot of catching up to do in blogging here. I don't normally talk too much about my photo experiences since i have little to share. I am still a novice. Nevertheless, this is going to be the start.. I will try to be detailed. Hahaha... This is going to be the second blog for today.

Where shall i start?

Let me tell you how i got into this hobby. When I was a child, my dad owned this awesome old looking SLR camera.. (A 1970's Minolta Camera)... My dad always said whenever we held it, we should be careful because it cost a fortune... i was dying to learn how to use it but i was too afraid to hold it... When i grew a little older, my dad started to teach my sister the ropes in photography.. Dad insisted that my sister will be the one to teach me how to use the thing... Highschool was demanding for my sister that's why she wasn't able to pass the know-how in photography. I told myself, "i just want to take photographs to freeze special moments... it's ok if i wont learn the SLR..."... and so, i asked my parents to buy me a simple, plastic, film, point and shoot camera. I had it when i was in 1st year HS. I was so hyped to take pictures when i had it in my hands... i took candid shots of my classmates. wacky shots.... I even tried different angles... Guess what... The pictures i took were all adjusted to the left!!! it's called the err-something- error in photography (sorry, i forgot what it's called)... Insta-cameras' view finders were not inline with the lens!!! geez... oh well... at least i was able to "freeze" the moment. i prayed that everything will be developed...

=fast track=

In college, finally, i had the guts to bring my dad's SLR in Iloilo. i bought several rolls of 36-shot BW films. i wanted my shots to look all dramatic... when i got home from the the peace camp in iloilo, i asked dad to help meremove the film in the cam... funny, the film got stuck.. and it was exposed... grrr!!!! My heart sank and regreted to have brought the cam with me...

=fast track a little bit more=
DSLR age... when i heard that DSLRs came out, i knew that film photographers were mortified. Photographers who used film were like the elite class because photography used to be something special.. Not only that the equiptment cost so much, photographing was (and still IS) something you should really think about before shooting since you'd never know the outcome until you have developed the film.
I was not part of the 'elite group' but I felt a bit sad (since i still consider myself as a film user and assuming that i'd be able to learn the SLR). "we were supposed to be special" lol... that time DSLR users were called 'posers'. haha

=fast track=
I am a DSLR user now! Does that mean i am a poser? hahaha! I believe that if you have an eye for beautiful perspectives, then you are not a poser. :D
